Vocal and Guitar Jazz Duo

Maureen’s love of singing standards developed through years of performing in musical theater. In 2013, her journey in jazz began in the mountains of North Carolina. Upon returning to Pittsburgh, she met rising musician, Alex Weibel at a jam session.  Alex began playing guitar at age 8 and is currently embarking on a Masters Degree in Jazz Performance at Duquesne. The two perform regularly in various jazz groups throughout Pittsburgh.Maureen and Alex are a couple of old souls revisiting classic standards from the Great American Songbook and beyond. Covering the music of Duke Ellington and Erroll Garner to the Beatles and Jobim, the two enjoy the simplicity of the vocal/guitar format which allows for an easy, conversational touch.
